"Finance Minister Iris Evans had said the province would have to find $2 billion in revenues or savings if the economy didn't perform better then expected, but it now appears that cuts and tax hikes or some combination of the two are a certainty…. The governing Tories have already forecast a record $4.7-billion deficit, which would escalate to $6.7 billion if the $2 billion is not found, but the document suggests the province could plunge even deeper into the red if the price of natural gas--forecast in the budget at $5.50 per gigajoule but currently selling at $3.75 --doesn't rebound."I’m sorry, but if I ever hear someone parrot some line about “Tax and Spend Liberals” or that the Conservatives are the party of sound fiscal planning; that never raises taxes and keeps balanced budgets, I may just have an aneurysm.

Alberta has no debt. They are the richest province in the country. They have been governed by Conservatives for many years now. The Conservatives have pretty well managed the province. I am sure that they probably have lowest taxation in the country. What more do you want?
That's only by the grace of natural resources, and I'm sure there are many disadvantaged in the province that may to beg to differ with the assessment that everything is great.
The federal cons will do the same, twist some semantics and raise taxes as well.
It's the Cons holier than though attitude, and then they go and do the opposite, just look at Harper and no deficit spending when they knew damn well they'd have to, or all the other flip flops.
I have no trust with them not raising taxes in some form to deal with the long term debt we've now taking on. It's the dishonesty in the public realm instead of speaking the truth. Anything the electorate will be spoon fed long enough to get elected, and then it's an about face

I've never said that it was perfect. Perfection doesn't exist in this world. But you have to admit that they are very well off compare to the rest of us. If the people of that province weren't happy with their situation you would think they would have changed their government by now. I'm I right?
Now in contrast Ontario has been going threw a tough time, are you going to blame their Liberal government for it? Or are you only going to blame the Conservatives when things are rough and the Liberals when times are good?
Proud Canadian,Alberta has no debt.False. Don't you ever read the papers? It is fine to love your province but take those silly blinders off, get your facts straight and please stop lying to yourself because that dosen't make it true. It really is bad when you believe nothing but lies and therefore wouldn't know the simple truth eeven if it slapped you across the face.
